Blaze achieves it's highly realistic look by using image based lighting to illuminate its 3D models. An image based light source can be imagined as a large sphere surrounding the model, with varying colours on its surface.

One or more of these lighting environments may be arranged visually in the Environment editor, providing great flexibility in lighting design, and allowing the artist to fine tune the look they want for their model.
