Embed Blaze 3D within PowerPoint |
|
Holomatix Blaze 3D includes a Player to embed Blaze 3D presentations within Microsoft PowerPoint slides.
In order to execute the 3D animation while in PowerPoint presentation mode, it is necessary for the operator to have the Blaze Player Plug-In present on their machine. This is a one-time install available for download and is 320k in file size. Please note that there is not any install or plug-in required to run the same presentation over the web; it is only necessary to have the plug-in so that MS PowerPoint can interpret the file (same process as Macromedia Flash) offline.
To embed a presentation into a PowerPoint slide, ensure that you have all the published Flash files (.swf files) for the presentation and complete the following steps:
- Open up the PowerPoint slide in which you wish to embed the Blaze 3D presentation.
- Select the menu option "Insert" > "Object", which will present you with a dialog window and the available object types.
- Select "Holomatix Blaze 3D" from this dialog window and select OK. A new Blaze 3D player control will be added to your slide which is represented with a Blaze icon in the center. This can be positioned and sized as required.
- Optional settings for the presentation can be specified through the right click menu on the object and selecting "Properties"
- To embed the presentation Flash files (.swf files) into the control access the right click menu and select the menu item "Holomatix 3D Object" > "Properties...". You will be presented with a dialog window which you can drag and drop all your Flash files into and they will appear in a list.
- Double click on the launching Flash file to indicate to PowerPoint that it is the primary Flash file which launches the Blaze 3D presentation.
- The status of this Flash file will be updated to confirm that it is the "Primary" file. Select OK for this window.
- Save your presentation and to run the presentation start the Powerpoint slideshow (F5). Download a sample Blaze 3D PPT presentation here.
Optional settings include
align - Indicates the current alignment of the Blaze 3D movie within the Stage. | Value | Vertical | Horizontal | | "T" | top | center | | "B" | bottom | center | | "L" | center | left | | "R" | center | right | | "TL" | top | left | | "TR" | top | right | | "BL" | bottom | left | | "BR" | bottom | right |
FlashVars - Any FlashVars for the presentation ver - Version of the Blaze 3D player
scale - The SCALE parameters work together with the dimension settings to determine how a Blaze 3D movie will display
- ShowAll (Default) - This setting renders the entire movie visible, while retaining the original aspect ratio of the movie. Because of this, the movie will not be distorted, because the proportions are constrained. Borders may be present on the two sides of the movie if the browser window's dimensions do not match the stage size's ratio.
- NoBorder - This setting scales the movie in order to fit within the specified area, to ensure that no borders will appear. The movie maintains it's original aspect ratio. No distortion will occur, but the sides of the movie may be cropped off.
- ExactFit - This setting ensures that the entire movie will be visible within the specified area. Because the movie is scaled to fit at a ratio that may not reflect the original file, distortion of the movie may occur.
- NoScale - This setting applies no scaling to the movie and it will center the movie within the specified area neither shrinking or stretching the presentation.
