Texture Tinting It can quite often be very effective to light your model based on existing photography of an object. For example, if you’ve modelled a car, it is best to go to the manufacturer’s website and use one of their photos as a basis for lighting. It is generally the tone of the product that is important to get right and the quickest way to adjust the whole texture page is to use the colour adjustments available in the Texture panel.
Simply select the image you want to adjust and then you can use the sliders to tint the map to the desired colour. Material TintingIt can sometimes be necessary to adjust the colour of a surface which uses the same texture page as another surface. In these conditions, tinting of the texture page will not work. Instead you can adjust the colour of the material, on a per channel basis, to achieve the colour you desire. This can also come in useful when combined with the fresnel slider to approximate an ‘opalescent’ finish (different colour depending on angle viewed). |
