Batch Rendering
Rendition supports Batch Rendering, either from the command line or interactively.

Command Line Batch Rendering

Rendition can be used in command line mode to render out a sequence of frames to final production quality using the following syntax:

Rendition -render filename [-start StartFrame [-end EndFrame]]

For example, to render out an entire .mi file, use:

Rendition -render myScene.mi

To render all frames between frame 312 and 405, use:

Rendition -render myScene.mi -start 312 -end 405

To render all frames starting at frame 312 until the end of the file, use:

Rendition -render myScene.mi -start 312

Please note that the first frame in the .mi file is frame 1 (not frame 0).

Interactive Batch Rendering

Open a multi-frame .mi file in Rendition (by File->Open or by dragging an .mi file into the Rendition main window), select Window->Timeline to make the timeline visible, ensure that Play Mode is set to "Complete Each Frame"  and click on Play. Each frame of the .mi file will be rendered and saved out in succession.

Watch Folder Batch Rendering

Rendition also implements a 'Watch Folder' functionality which allows multiple machines or an unmanaged render farm to collaborate to automatically render all frames from one or more .mi files placed within the deisgned watch folder. Output frames are placed in myScene.mi-output and separate frames are rendered in parallel by as many machines have watch folder mode enabled. Watch Folder can be accessed through Window->Watch Folder. mi files are rendered in alphabetical order and subfolders within the designated watch folder are also examined, allowing ad-hoc job prioritization to be enforced.
