Rendition currently supports scenes using any combination of Maya, 3ds Max, XSI and mentalray shaders. Key supported features include:

  • Maya 6, 7, 8, 8.5 and 2008 Shaders
  • 3ds Max 9, 2008 and 2009 Shaders
  • XSI 6.0 and 6.5 Shaders
  • Mental Ray Shaders
  • 3rd party mental ray shaders (Recompiling not required: supports native mr dll and so files)
  • Global Illumination, Photon Mapping, Caustics, Final Gathering
  • Depth of Field and Motion Blur
  • Sub-surface scattering (SSS)
  • Volumetric Particles
  • Polygonal Geometry, NURBS Geometry and Subdivision Surfaces
  • Normal Maps
  • mr Surface Approximation Nodes
  • Displacement maps on NURBS surfaces, subdivision and polygonal geometry
  • mr Architectural material and mr Physical Sky/Sun
  • Maya Ocean/Fluids
  • Material, Texture, Environment, Shadow, Lens, Volume, Photon, State and Light Shaders
  • Hair and contour shaders under development
  • Area lights, Directional lights, Point lights, Spot lights, Ambient light, Geometric Lights
  • High dynamic range images/textures (HDR, EXR, TIFF)
  • Elliptic texture filtering
